Stock Market Crash Amongst the junior mining companies, Nevada's own, Golden Phoenix Minerals, Inc. (OTCBB: GPXM) followed its larger peers Friday, closing up 0.005, or 1.89%, to close at $0.27. Golden Phoenix announced Tuesday that Gryphon Gold had met its Phase One commitment in expenditures for 2004 at GPXM's Borealis Mine. The deal calls for Gryphon to spend $5.2 million to complete Phase One of the program to bring the unspent oxide heaps, dumps and stockpiles to production. Gryphon Gold spent a total of $1.78 million through July 31, 2004 as part of a $2.16 million total annual budget.Using a 0.01 ounce per ton gold cutoff grade, Gryphon Gold reported 43.3 million tons at 0.034 ounces per ton for 1,481,200 ounces of gold. It further evaluated the overall district where it has identified an additional 3 to 6 million potential ounces of gold.
