Stock Investing Course (AXcess News) Reno, NV - One of the most often-used online search sources for financial news and in-depth stock quotation search is Yahoo finance, but now, Google has entered the market with the launch of Google Finance beta on Tuesday.

Stock Market Game Google Finance is a more basic system that displays major market index prices and charts at the top of its page. The streamlined display of news stories below are pulled from Google News and appear to be the top story from each group.

It’s no surprise that eBay may want to be more competitive against Google these days. Yahoo and Microsoft are also feeling the heat of the competition with Google’s Gmail and chat service. According to various reports, eBay is in discussions with Yahoo and Microsoft to consider forming a mega force to compete against Google together. eBay has not confirmed the reports, saying only that they are often in talks with both Yahoo and Microsoft.

Stock Investing Game Google News pulls headlines from over 4,500 news sources online, including AXcess News and while the new Google Finance beta carries a top story, complete with picture, those business articles below it do not display graphics. That suggests that Google Finance beta is meant to remain streamlined and basic in display.

Journal Prime Rate Street Wall A really interesting feature of Google Finance is the search function in the beta financial search section of the search engine. As AXcess News publishes a fair amount of business stories, I pulled a search on a local Reno-based Enviro-Ag company we've tracked for some time - Itronics, Inc. I must say, I was impressed with Google Finance's search feature over that of Yahoo! Finance.

For your convenience, we email a list of valid Keywords along with our top selling Google and Yahoo text advertisements to every affiliate who join our program.

Stock Market News On Yahoo Finance you have to know what you're doing when pulling a stock quote, depending on what exchange the company is trading on. For OTC BulletinBoard stocks you have to add ".ob" to the ticker symbol (ITRO.OB) of your come up blank, but in Google Finance I didn't need to - Google knew which stock to display. I merely entered "itro" in the search query and there it was, all neatly organized and with more information displaying about the company than Yahoo Finance gives - unless you click on one of the many navigation links Yahoo displays.

Stock Investing Basics Granted, ITRO is an OTCBB stock, and in my query under Google Finance search it did not provide me a current quote or stock chart. But listed companies do display that additional information.

Stock Investing Software Google Finance listed two competitors of ITRO at the bottom of its information page on that company; UAP Holdings Corp.(Nasdaq: UAPH) and Appliance Recycling Centers (Nasdaq: ARCI). I chose UAPH for my comparison and what really struck me was the cool chart displayed below the stock quote. That and the news ticker links to the right which were updating in real time! Yahoo's financial information page shows the same headlines, but they links do not refresh automatically and the chart sucks.

Stock Market Trading Google's chart permits the user to drag a curser bar across the chart to auto display prices at that particular date and time and does not limit the number of days you can look up a stock's chart, unlike Yahoo Finance which only gives the view a handful of chart options.

Stock Investing For Dummy The people over at Yahoo Finance have to be fuming. In a deeper Google Finance search, looking up NYSE: IBM, I noted that the chart displays letters that correspond to the news out on the company, a really convenient feature in my thinking. By clicking on a letter in the chart it highlights the related news story, making it easy to identify and give the user a view of how the market reacted. Quite impressive!

Stock Market Crash There was even real-time ECN stock quote information displaying above the IBM chart and below the delayed quote in Google Finance. I think that once Google takes the beta off this new, powerful and feature-loaded financial section it will draw more users than Yahoo Finance, which currently leads amongst search engines in that category. One thing I didn't get around to was foreign markets. But if Google's not added that feature it probably will over time.
