( SBC) got the go ahead from California state regulators to complete the $16 billion deal to accquire AT&T Corporation ( T), which was already approved by the Federal Communications Commission last month. AT&T, the nation' distance company and SBC, phone operator behind Verizon Communications ( VZ), when combined will create a $90 billion telecommunications powerhouse that will be able to expand on bundled services once the deal is closed.
