Convera Signs First Commercial Clients for Excalibur Search Technology
Vienna, VA, February 15, 2006 Convera Corporation (NASDAQ: CNVR), a leading provider of search technologies to commercial enterprises and government agencies, today announced that it has signed its first commercial clients for Converas Excalibur Web Index and Search service.
HighBeam Research, Inc. (www.highbeam.com) runs an online research engine for individuals, filling the gap between free search engines and high-end research services. HighBeams Founder, Chairman and CEO Patrick Spain said his company will use Excalibur to enhance the power of its HighBeam Web Search functionality. By enabling HighBeams users to search our proprietary database of tens of millions of credible articles and the entire open Web in one step, HighBeam has made online research more convenient and efficient, said Mr. Spain.
Vivsimo, creator of innovative software to access and cluster the world's information for better search and discovery, plans to incorporate aspects of Excaliburs search technology into its popular consumer search engine Clusty (www.clusty.com). Vivisimo serves enterprise customers across the globe through a suite of clustering, search, and meta-search products.
In addition, as part of its ongoing efforts to bring unique content organization to its audiences, CNET Networks Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Group said it will use Converas search and categorization capabilities to find new Web content about consumer products, particularly in the domains of computers and electronics, and to classify them by type.
